Sarouk Carpet, Persia, Late 19th - Early 20th Century
The central field, in ivory, is decorated with a large four-pointed floral medallion in navy blue and blush pink, surrounded by a dense composition of arabesques and intertwining branches that give the rug a harmonious fluidity.
The outer border is enriched with a succession of stylized floral motifs on a dark blue background, creating a sophisticated contrast with the lighter center. A distinctive feature of this rug is the angular design in the inner field, delicately framing the central medallion—a hallmark of antique Sarouk carpets.
