Scuola Veneta del XVII secolo

The technique of describing the drapery and the cold and glazed colors indicate the hand of a painter active in the Veneto area during the seventeenth century. The compositional setting and the expressiveness of the figures suggest that the painter may have studied the works of Pietro Liberi. The allegory of Time that reveals the Truth, with its implications of great political as well as moral significance, will have great success throughout the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
