Landscape with buildings and figures
Oil on canvas. The canvas, which depicts a landscape according to the classicist interpretation, refers to a painter active in Rome in the early eighteenth century. The idealization of nature is returned here through the search for a perfect compositional balance. The great harmony of the scene and the fresh airiness of the landscape suggest the still strong influence of Claude Lorrain's creations.
