A very rare gemstone, this diamond can be classified in colour D, exceptional white. Grading by carat, colour, clarity and cut was introduced in the 1950s to solve a long-standing problem in the diamond market, that of standardising valuations on an international scale. This grading considers the D colour otherwise referred to as River or Exceptional White as the first colour in the scale. The rarity of D-colour diamonds combined with their high carat makes them highly coveted as an investment asset.
