Turkoman Ersari Rug, Central Asia, Late 19th - Early 20th Century

The central field is adorned with a layout of large octagonal gul, distinctive tribal motifs that serve as the signature of Turkoman tribes. The guls feature a geometric structure with star-like details, symbolizing protection and tribal identity.
The border is decorated with lozenge motifs and stylized tribal details on an ivory background, creating an interesting contrast with the rust-red main field.
