Ecce Homo
The painting, full of pathos and of high quality, represents the suffering face of Christ according to the codified iconography of the Ecce Homo. The complexion tones, the painting with suffused lighting effects and the type of physical characterization refer to an artist active in the Bolognese area, probably influenced by Ludovico Carracci. The work is accompanied by a precious 17th century gilded wooden frame of Emilian manufacture.
