Alfa Romeo Trophy, 1975
Signature engraved under the base "Andrea Cascella". Sample 184 of 300. Alfa Romeo emblem engraved under the base.
The Alfa Romeo Trophies are a series of sculptures that the car manufacturer commissioned, from 1963 to 1987, to the most important Italian artists. Each year an artist was chosen to be assigned the task of designing and making a sculpture, which was then to be donated as a prize to the drivers who had won the races or given special honors to Alfa Romeo in that year.
Among the various awarded in that year with Andrea Cascella's sculpture we remember: Mario Andretti, Andruet, Derek Bell, Alberto and Vittorio Brambilla, Anna Cambiaghi, Vito Coco, Dini, Francisci, Jacky Icks, Litrico, Jochen Mass, Merzario, Henry Pescarolo, Ormezzano, Jody Schekter, Vaccarella.
"The work represents, at the same time, a direct emanation and exaltation of the technological environment in which we live and, in its decomposition, almost a waste" Andrea Cascella
