Pair of majolica medallions, Bassano, mid-20th century

characterized by male and female faces modeled in high relief, emerging in the center of an oval with golden grooves enriched along the edge by polychrome floral compositions. The plaque with the female profile bears an inscription incussa on the reverse of the Zortea manufacture in Bassano. Founded by Luigi Zortea in 1921, in 1950 the management passed to his son Francesco and his heirs carried it on until 2000.
