PIERRET 1845-1898 COLLIER IN MICROMOSAIC
Antique and precious Collier in gold and micromosaic (1870 ca) Yellow gold necklace formed by a spike-mesh cord and pendants embellished with decorations and geometric figures and minute micromosaic flaming, represented Flora, winged cherubs, butterflies and geometric figures . The pendants in the form of a cross and a banner are drummed, that is, composed of two empty welded valves, and inserted on the cord through a twisted tube wire or double cones finished with smooth thread. The manufacture is attributable to the atelier of the goldsmith Pierret, active in Rome from 1845-1898. The minute mosaics can be attributed instead to the school of Giacomo Raffaelli (Rome 1753-Rome 1836).
