Ecce Homo. Oil on canvas, 79x63 cm. At the bottom of the entry "Ego Pro Haec Passvs Svm Tv Real Qvid Fecisti Pro Me". Within coeval frame.The work is exemplified on the specimen carried out by the Fetti at the Giovannelli collection, of which there are numerous school replicas on different supports and dimensions. Il Fetti is an artist with a short but intense career, initially influenced in Rome by the works of Caravaggio, Rubens and Adam Elsheimer, and then turned to Venetian shades following his appointment as court painter of the Gonzaga family in Mantua, in whose collection numerous extraordinary Venetian works.The painter is very tied to a religious production and to paintings with parables in which a lively writing is observed and a matter dissolved in the light that heralds the Guardi.
