Alabaster sculpture depicting a child sitting portrait with a book in his hand. Pugi inscription on the back along the profile of the base, cm 45x16x23 Restoration. Guglielmo Pugi (1850 - 1915) is the author of the monument to King Umberto in Fiesole, his hometown. He had his studio in Florence where he made, even with the help of his two sons Gino and Fiorenzo, marble and alabaster sculptures, mainly copies of ancient statues, classical busts, oriental figures, mythological and allegorical subjects that were commercialized internationally. In 1901 at the World Buffalo Fair in the United States, some works were exhibited. In 1935, the year of his death, Guglielmo Pugi e Figli took the name Fratelli G. and F. Pugi.
