Portrait of Giuseppe Garibaldi. The work is to be referred to the years 1865-1870, a beautiful, acute portrait of the hero of the Two Worlds. The character is caught in half-length, in front, silhouetted against a diffused light, which creates effects of backlight on the face. The refined drafting of the color mixtures, make this work relate to the evocative self-portraits of the early 60s. The oval frame is original. oil on canvas, 34x28 cm.
