CHINESE QUING JADE PIECES

Giant pieces of jade pieces with floral decorations embedded in 5 small wooden panels; Chinese manufactory; late Qing period (1796-1644) metà XIX century. The panels, which are inserted in jade works performed per day, not only are all part of a sphere and feet on each panel are not relevant allâ € ™ original function; in one of the pairs the signs of the hinges are still good, as the four largest panels were, in fact, small doors, ornaments, characterized by the use of the decorative motif of the infinite node (pan zhang), a small chest or chalk from table, mind the smallest panel was placed below as a drawer. Once some of these pieces, for unknown reasons, have been dismantled, doors and drawers, which originally had a front view, were transformed into small feet. Four panels cm 17.5x8 and one cm 6x16
