CLOCK WITH THE APOLLO DELBELVEDERE, FRANCE 1815

Clock with bust of the Apollo Belvedere, France circa 1815. This attractive clock of linear and compact structure is composed of a high square base decorated with a frieze of palms containing the mechanism. Above the base is a fine and faithful reproduction of the head of the celebrated Apollo Belvedere, the classical sculpture belonging to Pope Julius II (1503 - 1513) which gave rise to the papal collections and the Vatican Museums.
