COUPLE OF CHINESE VASES
Pair of chinese white and blue porcelain (qinghua) vases with phoenix (fenghuang); Chinese manufactory, presumably manufactured by Jingdezhen (Jiangxi Province); late Qing period (1796-1911), early mid-19th century; height 42 cm. The pair of jars is characterized by the cobalt blue decor under blue-greenish cover, according to a solution that sometimes recurs in the nineteenth century's pieces. The pair of birds are inspired by mythical phoenix (fenghuang), associated with other elements of good wishes.
