COUPLE OF VASES
Pair of Chinese porcelain pots, decorated with enamels of the so-called pink family, depicting gender scenes; Jingdezhen (Jiangxi Province) and Canton (Guangdong Province); Qing dynasty (1644-1911) last quarter of the eighteenth century; height cm 64. The pair of jars is decorated with enamels of the so-called pink family (from the term used in France by the end of the nineteenth century); in China these pieces are more appropriately called yang cai (foreign colors), fencai (soft colors) or ruancai (soft shades). The pair of vases are those types originally made at Jingdezhen, whose final decoration was usually completed in Canton. The decor with geometric, floral and insect elements, in addition to the so-called Fo dogs, follows the models made for the West market.
