Giovanni Battista Marcola

Giovanni Battista Marcola (Verona, 1711–1780) was a prominent figure in the intellectual culture of eighteenth-century Verona. Born in Verona in 1711, Marcola was active during a period of significant cultural ferment in the Venetian Republic, when Arcadia and the Arcadian movement were profoundly transforming Italian literature and the visual arts.
